RA-Battery

Gus Murray

Dear Allan, I’ve got a D-MAX and I was wondering, would there be a problem putting a second battery from a dual battery setup under the bench seat in the back of my ute? I don’t want to stuff around trying to fit it under the tray, and there’s no room under the bonnet.

Gus, there’s no problem at all with putting it under the back seat, but you have to watch out for voltage drop. To eliminate it you’ll need some very heavy cable to connect the batteries. Any cable you use over a meter or so, you’re best off getting some advice from an auto-electrician on the size of the leads you’ll need to use to gain full advantage from your dual battery system.

Thanks Gus, all the best.
